Jordan Gill has won plenty of admirers since his miraculous victory over Karim Guerfi last weekend.
The Chatteris featherweight was behind on the scorecards with two perforated eardrums when he found a superb right hand to stop Guerfi in his tracks.
The Frenchman was stopped immediately, which meant the Gill captured the vacant European crown.
As well as enduring the aforementioned injuries, Gill was also the recipient of a well-timed DDT from Guerfi that caused some at ringside to show genuine concern towards Gill.
The incident has been replayed countless times on social media, and it even caught the attention of wrestling legend, Jake the Snake Roberts, who famously used the DDT as his finisher.
“Jordan, you got up from a DDT,” said the current AEW star on Matchroom Boxing’s Twitter account.
“Know this, if I done it, you wouldn’t have got up so be grateful it wasn’t me. Congratulations on being the European champ. You put the time in. You put the work in. It’s not over yet, you’re just getting started.“
