Serrano vs Trellez: Subscribe to watch - Saturday

Amanda Serrano kicks off the 2026 DAZN Boxing schedule on Saturday as she defends her WBA and WBO featherweight titles against late replacement Reina Tellez at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico, live on DAZN.

Recently, Serrano has said that perhaps 2026 will be the final year of her decorated career. The seven-division world champion has helped put women's boxing on the map with three memorable bouts with Katie Taylor, including the first and third fights being the only ones to have a women's main event at Madison Square Garden. After 52 bouts, Serrano (47-4-1, 31 KOs) knows the end of the road is closer to the finish line than the starting blocks.

However, before Serrano crosses that line, there are a few more things on the bucket list before she hangs up the gloves for good.

"When I started, it was a struggle," Serrano said at Tuesday's press conference. "Me, my sister and Jordan Maldonado (Serrano's trainer), we struggled for years in this sport. Thirteen years of being a professional, Nakisa Badarin and Jake Paul came into my life and changed my life, changed my family's life, changed my bank account. It’s been an incredible journey. I said I might (retire).

"I said I might (retire). I do have goals. I need the record for knockouts (record held by Christy Martin at 32). I need 50 wins. There’s certain goals. I’ve got to keep on going."

Serrano hasn't fought in her native Puerto Rico since a ninth-round knockout win over Daniela Romana Bermudez in March 2021. She'd been set to headline nearly two years ago in December 2023 against Nina Meinke but was pulled the day of the fight due to an eye injury.

The emotions are high for Serrano competing in her home country and she's looking forward to putting on her show for her country.

"A different emotion when I fight here in Puerto Rico," Serrano said. "The love is real and genuine. We bring it different. Latinos bring it different. Everyone on the card is going to feel the energy in that arena.

"Come Saturday night, it’s just going to be a great night."
