Anderson Silva couldn’t defeat Jake Paul in boxing back in October 2022.
But at 50 years old, the MMA legend did not have any trouble dismantling a fellow former UFC fighter Friday night in the ring as he produced a second-round TKO of Tyron Woodley.
After being booed by the crowd at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, for the lack of action in the opening round, Silva uncorked a picture-perfect right uppercut that dropped Woodley nearly flat on his face.
Though the former UFC welterweight champion made it to his feet, the referee did not feel like Woodley had his bearings in order enough to continue and halted the action right there. Silva's fireworks were part of the Paul vs. Anthony Joshua main card.
Following his third boxing victory by knockout, Silva shared with Ariel Helwani live on Netflix that he is going to follow through with ambitions to become a police officer, but that won't mean he will stop fighting any time soon.
In fact, Silva said that he would like to face another former MMA star in Chris Weidman in his next boxing bout. Silva infamously lost twice to Weidman in the Octagon and would relish in the chance to exact revenge.
Silva and Weidman were originally supposed to fight Friday night before the latter was injured, with Woodley taking his place on three weeks' notice.
Silva, the longest-reigning world champion in UFC history as a middleweight ruler, is now 4-2 in the sweet science. Meanwhile, Woodley fell to 0-3, having lost twice to Paul before suffering defeat at the hands of 'The Spider.'
