Ben Whittaker produces one of the best knockouts of 2025 as he delivers massively on Matchroom debut

Ben Whittaker backed up his pre-fight hype with a stunning first-round knockout against Benjamin Gavazi in Birmingham. 

The 2020 Olympic silver medallist recently signed for Matchroom, and after facing criticism following a draw with Liam Cameron last year, Whittaker went some way to erasing that performance as he blasted Gavazi with big shots from the opening bell. 

Whittaker dropped Gavazi early, and when the Gavazi beat the count, Whittaker followed up with more shots until a big right hand immediately ended the contest. 

Bigger tests lie ahead for the Wolverhampton man, but this performance was intended to create a buzz, and Whittaker ticked that box in a big way. He can now look forward to a big 2026.
