Abdullah Mason is the new WBO lightweight champion, but the American had to work hard for his win over the incredibly tough Sam Noakes in Saudi Arabia . 

Mason has been seen as one of the future stars of boxing for a long time and he showed why this past weekend as he moved past Noakes on points. 

The action was relentless from the first bell and both men enjoyed periods of success in their pursuit of world title glory.
