Carlos Adames out of title defence in New York on Lopez vs. Stevenson undercard

DAZN News can reveal Carlos Adames has withdrawn from his fight with Austin Williams on Saturday night.

Adames was due to defend his WBC middleweight title on the Ring 6 card at Madison Square Garden, which is live on DAZN PPV, but his handlers have said he is sick and will not fight in New York as a result.

It is understood that the organisers are looking for a replacement opponent.

The show is headlined by Teofimo Lopez’s defence of his WBO super-lightweight belt against Shakur Stevenson, who is stepping up in a bid to become a four-weight world champion.
