Shields vs. Daniels - Saturday on DAZN - Subscribe

Claressa Shields can never be accused of lacking confidence as she goes into her next world title defence against Lani Daniels , live on DAZN , on July 26.

The Flint native has dazzled as an amateur and professional, and she has collected every prize imaginable on her way to the top.

Despite her focus on Daniels and more titles, Shields has declared on multiple occasions that she could beat a male fighter.

One of those fighters she is insistent she would claim victory against is Jake Paul, and she made that clear in a recent interview.

In the last couple of years, as well as climbing the rankings for his own career, Paul has promoted several of the world’s leading female fighters including three fights between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.

Shields has not fought on any of his shows, and it does not appear such an opportunity is forthcoming despite Paul being the promoter of several potential Shields rivals.

Although Shields knows deep down, she is capable of beating all her female foes, she also believes she would emerge victorious against Paul.

“How the f--- is he going to knock me out if he can’t land no punch? He is an amateur,” said Shields when speaking on The Pacman Jones Show earlier this year.

“I spar against men 24/7 and the men I spar against will whoop Jake Paul’s a--. So [there] ain’t no doubt in my mind what I would do to that amateur.”
