Daniel Dubois (WBO heavyweight)

  • Age : 28
  • No. of fights : 26
  • Record : 23-3 (22 KOs)

'Dynamite' returned to the heavyweight summit earlier this May in a fight-of-the-year contender, dethroning Fabio Wardley in Manchester for the WBO crown.

Previously the IBF kingpin, with a blockbuster win over Anthony Joshua , Dubois had faced questions over his mindset after a second loss to Oleksandr Usyk .

But despite being dropped twice at the Co-op Live by his opponent's ferocious right hand, the star emphatically answered his critics with one of his best turns.

As former champion, Wardley has activated an immediate rematch clause, teeing up a second dance between the pair. Dubois will be confident he wins again.

Hamzah Sheeraz (WBO super middleweight)

  • Age : 27
  • No. of fights : 24
  • Record : 23-0-1 (19 KOs)

Having missed out on his chance to take middleweight glory against Carlos Adames back at the start of 2025, the Slough fighter switched divisions last year.

It was a decision that has paid off for his career handsomely, with Sheeraz now the latest British male world champion after stopping Alem Begic in two rounds.

Having previously dismissed Edgar Berlanga in New York on his super-middleweight debut, the star needed even less time in Giza to seal the vacant WBO strap.

Sheeraz already has his eyes on unification opportunities and blockbuster names, with the returning Canelo Alvarez expected to be high on his hit list of rivals.

Josh Kelly (WBA light middleweight)

  • Age : 32
  • No. of fights : 20
  • Record : 18-1-1 (9 KOs)

'Pretty Boy' has recovered admirably over the past half-decade since his first and only professional loss against David Avanesyan way back in 2021.

The Sunderland native built a sturdy resume of light-middleweight foes, and moved into title consideration with a win over Ishmael Davis back in 2024.

That dream became a reality earlier this year as he scored a majority decision over  Bakhram Murtazaliev in Newcastle to claim the IBF crown in style.

Kelly has several options for his first defence, though with his vanquished foe now confirmed for an eliminator bout again, time is running out to choose.

Lewis Crocker (IBF welterweight)

  • Age : 28
  • No. of fights : 22
  • Record : 22-0 (11 KOs)

'The Croc' enjoyed the biggest year of his career in 2025 as he played out a highly charged duology with Irish rival Paddy Donovan in two pulsating clashes.

In their first bout at Belfast's The SSE Arena, Crocker looked out in their IBF welterweight eliminator, only for his foe to be disqualified for a blow after the bell.

Then, in September's rematch across town at Windsor Park, the star scored two pivotal knockdowns in the first half of the fight en-route to a split-decision win.

Crocker is slated to make the first defence of his crown against Liam Paro this June in Brisbane, with his trip to Australia originally waylaid by a hand injury.

Dalton Smith (WBA light welterweight)

  • Age : 29
  • No. of fights : 19
  • Record : 19-0 (14 KOs)

The latest fighter from the Steel City to conquer the world, Sheffield native Smith has torn up trees across his career so far, capping his rise in style this year.

'Thunder' headed to New York City to tackle Subriel Matias for the WBC light-welterweight title at Barclays Center - and stunned onlookers with his victory.

A fifth-round TKO that left the incumbent champion stunned earned him status as Britain's first new male world champion of 2026, prompting wild scenes.

Hopes of a first defence this summer against Alberto Puello were scotched in April however after Smith suffered a hand injury, with his next steps unknown.

Anto Cacace (WBA super-featherweight)

  • Age : 37
  • No. of fights : 26
  • Record : 25-1 (9 KOs)

Britain's newest world champion is an old hand at these sort of things, with the 'Apache' previously reigning as IBF champion between 2024 and 2025.

Having vacated the belt however, he came in pursuit of fellow Briton Jazza Dickens this March, chasing a second stint at the top of the division's tree.

In front of a vocal Dublin crowd at the 3Arena, Cacace picked up a unanimous decision win over his rival to begin his second tenure as world champion.

At 37, it remains to be seen how much longer the star has in the game - but you can expect him to chase another defence before he calls time for sure.

Current male British interim world champions

In addition to the sextet of Dubois, Sheeraz, Kelly, Crocker, Smith and Cacace, several other British fighters currently hold interim or minor belts across the major governing bodies:

  • Callum Smith ( WBO interim light heavyweight )
  • Denzel Bentley ( WBO interim middleweight )
  • Jack Catterall ( WBA (Regular) welterweight )
  • Galal Yafai ( WBC interim flyweight )
