Shane Mosley is the newest member of Devin Haney’s training team as the California fighter gets ready to make his return to the ring.
Haney will battle Jose Ramirez on May 2, live on DAZN PPV, as he features on a huge show in the middle of Times Square in New York City.
Haney is joined on the bill by Ryan Garcia who will face Rolly Romero in the main event and victory for both Haney and Garcia could see them collide later this year.
Last year, Garcia dropped Haney three times before winning on the scorecards, but the result was later changed to a ‘No Contest’ after it was revealed that Garcia had failed a drugs test.
Despite maintaining his unbeaten record due to the ‘No Contest’ ruling, questions have now been asked of Haney and his ability at the highest level.
Major changes have not been made, but Mosley’s involvement has been focused on one area of Haney’s attributes and that is his power.
“Bill decided to have me come up to LA, and show Devin some of the power tricks that I know,’ said Mosley when speaking to FightHype.
“Jose can expect some good and good power [from Haney]. Devin has always had that good power. It’s those little things that you have to do just to turn over to get the knockout.
“That little snap at the end of the shot. I was showing him that and where he can feel it. “I took him through the process of it, and where he can feel it. Now he knows that, and he’s very different.
“He’s very deadly for a lot of the people he fights now. I believe in the sixth or seventh round, he gets him.”
The exchange brought a huge reaction from the crowd in attendance who were prompted to chant ‘Oscar’ by Teofimo Lopez, who is also on the card.
The show goes down this Friday night and it promises to be an explosive affair.
