Former super featherweight champion Joe Cordina is willing to achieve victory by any means necessary when he faces Gabriel Flores on Saturday.
Cordina will be appearing on the undercard of Diego Pacheco's super middleweight clash with Kevin Lele Sadjo, live on DAZN, in what will be his US debut.
After suffering his first professional loss to Anthony Cacace in May 2024, Cordina made the move from super feather to lightweight 14 months later, beating Jaret Gonzalez Quiroz by unanimous decision.
Cordina has aspirations of becoming a two-weight world champion, but being 34-years-old, there is not much time left for the Welshman to make this dream a reality.
Flores, who will be fighting in his home city of Stockton, is confident he can ruin Cordina's American debut.
At Thursday's press conference, Flores was not afraid to engage in fighting talk, and Cordina obliged, claiming that his opponent will realise what a 'real fight' is come the opening bell.
"I can’t see what he does that gives him the confidence to walk through me. It’s not going to happen," Cordina said.
"He’s a good fighter, but every time you’ve stepped up, you got beat, regardless of whether I got stopped or whatever, you got beat the s—t out of in the two losses.
"When you step in with me, you’re going to know what a real fighter is."
Then came Cordina's pre-fight prediction, and the former Olympian was confident he can knock out Flores, or if needed, showcase his boxing ability if the contest goes the distance.
"By any means necessary, I visualise me putting him to sleep, but I also visualise me boxing his ears off.
"We get the win no matter what."
Diego Pacheco versus Kevin Lele Sadjo is exclusively on DAZN this Saturday night, December 13, with Skye Nicolson and Gabe Flores Jr. also on the card. Watch with a subscription, monthly and annual options available.
