Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker is continuing to stake his claim for a shot at the undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk became a two-time undisputed champion at heavyweight after he knocked out Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium last month, and there is now a long line of contenders eager to face the Ukrainian.
One of those is Parker, who has been biding his time for a chance to become a two-time world heavyweight champion. The New Zealander even went in to the ring to congratulate Usyk after his win over Dubois in an attempt to cement himself as the next man in line for a fight.
Since then, it has gone quiet with Usyk's team not making any attempt to negotiate a bout with Parker despite orders from the WBO for the two camps to strike a deal.
With no update, Parker has taken to social media to post one of his comical music videos, calling out Usyk to the tune of A-ha's 'Take on Me'.
Joseph Parker has every right to be frustrated.
Since beating former world champion Deontay Wilder two years ago, he has put together an impressive run of performances with wins over Zhilei Zhang and Martin Bakole, whilst also claiming the WBO's interim heavyweight title in the process.
Let's not forget, Parker was due to fight IBF champion Daniel Dubois in February, but the contest fell through just days before the opening bell when 'Dynamite' fell ill and withdrew from the Riyadh showdown.
Parker and his trainer Andy Lee have done all the right things, and Parker's new aggressive style is improving in every fight.
If it is true about Usyk and his team showing little interest in facing Parker and ignoring the WBO, then all is not lost as the latter could still get a world title fight, albeit against a different name.
On August 16, live on DAZN PPV, Moses Itauma, who is ranked number one with the WBO, will face Dillian Whyte and if he beats the experienced Brit, then a world title bout could present itself.
There is a chance Usyk could be stripped if a deal with Parker's camp cannot be struck, so don't be surprised if we see Parker-Itauma for the vacant WBO title in the near future.
