The fight is set to be held at ANB Arena , in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia .
The country has become the home of boxing in recent years, with major Riyadh Season events drawing fighters and fans from around the globe.
Over the past two years, Itauma has steadily built his reputation as a younhg talent poised to shoot for the stars, while Whyte has struggled to reignite his career.
Neither man has arguably fought world-class opposition in the three years since Whyte suffered a third career loss against Tyson Fury at Wembley Stadium in April 2022.
That makes this battle all the more fascinating, as Itauma looks to tackle a foe practically old enough to be his father in the ring, and set the stage for further challenges.
Such is his youthful promise, the former seems destined to face stars close to a decade older for a world title over the next few years if he comes through this with a win
Defeat however, like that handed to Johnny Fisher by Dave Allen earlier this year, will raise questions over what the talent has in his back locker following a first pro loss.
Likewise, Whyte cannot afford defeat if he hopes to still be seen as a top-tier contender capable of pushing world champions all the way after facing some lesser rivals.
"It's a long fight week, but I'm here, I'm well," the star said at Tuesday's Grand Arrivals. "I can't complain. Today, I woke up around eleven, had a boxing session.
"Now we're here. Dillian has boxed 230 rounds more than I have. That brings a lot of experience. He said it himself that I'm a young guy but I've had loads of experience.
"As much as [everybody] wants to find out about me, I'm going into this fight to find out about myself. I've proved in my sparring what I'm capable of."
"I've far surpassed where I've come from," the star said at Tuesday's Grand Arrivals. "I'm one of the best fighters in the world.
"Sometimes, it's unbelievable. I'd love to get a chance to avenge my two defeats, and I'd love to fight for a world title again. I don't think I did myself justice last time.
"Sometimes, you're there but not really there, and I think that happened in the Fury fight. When you're a family man, sometimes life kicks you in the balls at the wrong time."
The fight week tensions are increasing and the two fighters faced the world's media for the final time on Thursday.
During the routine face off, Whyte attempted to unsettle his Itauma by speaking to him as they locked eyes. Itauma however refused to budge.
On Friday, both fighters hit the scales and Itauma was the slightly heavier man at 245.5 lbs.
Whyte was pound lighter at 244.5 lbs.
There may be no major belt on the line, but a shot at a world title is likely to be next for the winner of Itauma-Whyte on Saturday night in Riyadh.
Whyte is a rugged old veteran, a man not afraid to have a tear up in the ring. He will look to test Itauma’s chin and drag the prospect into a firefight.
However, I believe it will be the younger star who will triumph, targeting his foe's body to open up for the knockout blow in the second half of the fight.
You only have to see the odds to know that any result outside of a victory for Itauma will send shockwaves through the heavyweight division.
But I think he's got to be very careful. The younger man may be one of the game's hottest stars, but he's yet to really be tested over distance.
Fresher legs and energy will count for him, but even wise beyond his years as he maybe, Whyte is a seasoned and smart operator in the ring.
If he can survive the early barrage and drag it out into the second half, then there could be a few nasty surprises waiting for his younger rival.
Moses Itauma is currently the favourite to take the victory in Riyadh, and is priced odds-on at 1/10 with DAZN Bet for the win.
Dillian Whyte is the comfortable outsider with the bookmakers, and is available at 19/4 to score the upset, while a draw is 25/1.
