Parker vs Wardley - Former Deontay Wilder trainer makes prediction for heavyweight clash
Malik Scott is the latest heavyweight figure to offer his thoughts on the upcoming clash between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley.
Both are flying high in the rankings, and the winner is set to land a huge opportunity against Oleksandr Usyk for undisputed honours in 2026.
Parker enters the fight in terrific form including notching up impressive wins Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, and Martin Bakole.
Scott was training Wilder when the American was beaten by Parker, so he has first-hand experience of seeing the qualities possessed by the former WBO champion.
Wardley goes into the bout on the back of two impressive knockouts after destroying Frazer Clarke before coming from behind to wipe out Justis Huni with one shot.
Parker enters the fight a decent favourite due to his experience at the higher level, but Wardley’s power means that does have some backers amongst the boxing community.
Scott, a former heavyweight contender himself before switching to coaching, has delivered his verdict on who he thinks will be victorious on October 25, live on DAZN.
“Wardley is a pay-per-view fight because you’re dealing with a knockout artist and someone who can knock you out. Wardley is a knockout artist,” said Scott when speaking to Canada Casino.
“Joseph Parker is someone who can knock you out, but he’s very technically sound. Parker has tons of experience and has been in with the best. In that fight, it’s pay-per-view worthy because you can almost predict someone’s going to sleep.
“I would have to favour Parker in it, but I’m not shocked with anything that happens when you’re dealing with a live wire like Fabio.”
