I have sparred Parker and Wardley - Here is my prediction for heavyweight battle
Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley’s major heavyweight clash is fast approaching and one man who knows both fighters well is Guido Vianello.
The Italian contender who scored a big win over Alexis Barriere earlier this month has spent a lot of time in the ring with both combatants after being used as a sparring partner by both Parker and Wardley.
When Parker was preparing for Daniel Dubois earlier this year, a contest that was eventually postponed due to Dubois suffering from illness, Vianello was training alongside Parker helping the New Zealander get in shape.
On October 25, live on DAZN, at the O2 Arena in London, Parker and Wardley will collide knowing that victory will take them one step closer to a lucrative showdown with Oleksandr Usyk in 2026.
Both fighters enter the contest in excellent form with Parker halting Martin Bakole back in February four months before Wardley overcame a tough start against Justis Huni before landing a knockout blow in round ten.
Vianello, who is also hoping to land a big shot at a leading heavyweight next year, has had his say on this month’s blockbuster after having a close look at both.
“I’ve sparred with Fabio, but Parker is my brother,” said Vianello when speaking to Pro Boxing Fans.
“We lived together and I helped him in Riyadh for the [cancelled] fight with Dubois. I love Joseph and I think that he is stronger and faster. Parker right now is top three.
“I’m with the Parker team. He will win. Then I hope to see him versus Usyk.”
