Whyte was set to face Joe Joyce back in April, but that fight was also called off as Whyte was forced to withdraw with a hand injury

This time around, it appears that Whyte has withdrawn due to a bigger opportunity that is set to arrive this summer.

Whyte has not given up hope of one day becoming world champion and with the heavyweight division currently heating up with numerous high-profile names in the mix, it looks like Whyte is set to land one in August.

Frank Warren, the promoter of Saturday’s show, has provided an explanation why Whyte will not be in action on Saturday night, but he would not reveal who Whyte will be facing later this year.

"He's not going to be on the card now because he has had the opportunity of a big fight in August," said Warren when speaking BoxNation

"We are looking at the moment to get that over the line. It is a big fight for him, so that is going to take priority.

"He wants that. He wants a bigger fight than he would have got at Ipswich. It is a really big fight."
