The NFL has confirmed that Munich will host regular-season games in 2026 and 2028, keeping Germany right in the thick of the league’s expanding international plans.
Next year’s matchup will make it four straight seasons with an NFL game in Germany. The run began with the 2022 opener at FC Bayern's Allianz Arena, shifted to Frankfurt in 2023, and circled back to Munich earlier this year.
In that short window, Munich has turned into one of the league’s most reliable European stops - big TV numbers, packed stands, and a crowd that treats these fixtures like something far bigger than a novelty.
And with Berlin already lined up for 2027 and 2029, German fans know this isn’t a brief visit. There’s a steady pipeline of games on the way.
"As the first host of regular-season games in Germany, Munich holds a very special place in the hearts of our fans, and we look forward to continuing to create memorable experiences for them while building a year-round NFL presence across this city and country," declared NFL DACH general manager Alexander Steinforth.
"Germany is of huge strategic importance for the NFL in Europe, and our return to Munich signals the league's long-term commitment to playing games in the market," he added.
For 2026, Munich joins London (two games), Rio De Janeiro, and Melbourne on the confirmed host list, with more venues still expected to be added once plans are finalised.
We already know the Atlanta Falcons will be one of the teams involved, and the Los Angeles Rams will be the designated home team in Australia, but the exact matchups for each game have yet to be released.
What’s clear right now is simple: this move underscores how determined the league is to keep widening its footprint far beyond the United States.
