Enzo Maresca has spear-headed a meteoric rise for Chelsea, who will face Paris Saint-Germain this weekend in the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Like PSG, the Blues are set for their second final in two months, as Maresca guided the London club to a UEFA Conference League title in May. That piece of European silverware came during a season in which Chelsea also finished fourth in the Premier League, qualifying for next season's Champions League and firmly re-establishing the Blues as one of the top sides in England.

It wasn't that long ago that Chelsea were mired in the mid-table and spending recklessly as they tried to capture previous glory under new ownership, but Maresca has provided a steadying influence on a talented-but-inexperienced squad who will now play in the club's biggest match since winning the Champions League over four years ago.

Chelsea are preparing for a PSG side that have been nothing short of dominant in recent months, and the Parisians have only allowed a single goal in the Club World Cup despite facing the likes of Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Maresca acknowledged the massive challenge PSG pose to his team, calling the Ligue 1 giants "the best in the world" and stating that his side "have maximum respect for them."

However, the 45-year-old manager also stressed that his team will be ready for Sunday's final, and that he will ensure that Chelsea will prepare "in our best way" for the task at hand.

"Well, first of all, we are delighted to be here," Maresca said at a press conference on Friday. "We feel privileged because we arrived here a month ago, there were 32 teams, we were 16, and from 16 we were eight, from eight, four, and from four, two.

"So we are very happy and delighted to be here."

Maresca also stated that he and his players will aproach the final like any other match, despite PSG showing that they are superior to any team Chelsea have faced at this tournament.

His concerns are the same no matter who Chelsea face, he said.

"What worries me about Paris Saint-Germain is what worries me about any team," Maresca said. "I try to help the team prepare for the game in the best way possible, to give the players all the information possible, so that they can perform on the pitch, and this is my biggest concern. I try to prepare the game, I try to respect any team.

"The way I prepare the game on Sunday is the same way I have prepared the game against the Brazilian team [Fluminense, in the semi-finals]. It doesn't change much for me, I try to see where we can hurt them, I try to see where I can prevent them from hurting us, and from there I prepare the game."
