England will head into this summer's World Cup as one of the favourites after a qualifying campaign that saw them win all eight games without conceding a single goal.

Thomas Tuchel has an array of talent at his disposal and with the squad number expected to stay at 26 for the tournament, he will have a plethora of options to choose from - especially in attack.

With several spots in his first XI pretty much nailed on, one area that remains up for grabs is who will start at left-back for the Three Lions.

For the early part of Tuchel's first year in charge, it looked like Myles Lewis-Skelly was the man with the shirt, but after struggling for starts with Arsenal this season, he has fallen down the pecking order for his country, too.

Someone who's played at full-back at a World Cup finals is former defender Paul Parker. Parker, England's first-choice right-back at Italia '90, speaking exclusively to DAZN News, thanks to gambling portal British Gambler, believes there's a real issue in deciding who to play on the left side.

“The left-back is a huge problem for England next summer," he said. DAZN/FIFA

"Right-back is easy, Reece James is the best in the country by a mile. I think Thomas Tuchel needs to select someone on the left who’s playing regular football.

“My mind goes to Lewis Hall, who used to be a midfielder at Chelsea’s academy but has dropped into left-back. He’s very comfortable on the ball and will add some balance to that side and he’s a strong pick for Tuchel on that left-hand side.

“Hall isn’t scared of pressure and has picked up some good game time at a decent club, nothing seems to phase him. Ezri Konsa can also add some value there, but there are also likes of Myles Lewis-Skelley and Nico O’Reilly in the mix. They just can’t go back to Luke Shaw.

“I saw City players at the last tournament and they didn't do very well in an England shirt, because they’re very systematic. O’Reilly will fall into that category, too. He’s done very well at City, though, since Ait-Nouri’s injury and has stepped up in that position for a young lad.”

England kick off their campaign against Croatia in Group L, before games against Panama and Ghana in North America next summer.
