Matchweek 5 of the Premier League kicks off with the latest edition of the Merseyside derby, as Liverpool hosts Everton.
The Reds have been perfect through their first four matches of the league season, winning all four of those games in the dying moments. Their late show extended into European competition earlier this week as Liverpool defeated Atletico Madrid 3-2 thanks to a stoppage time goal by Virgil van Dijk, and Arne Slot's side return to domestic action with another thrilling victory under their belts.
They face an Everton team that has been rejuvenated under David Moyes, with a new-look attack led by Manchester City loanee Jack Grealish. The Toffees have committed to a high-octane style that is entertaining to watch, although they couldn't crack the Aston Villa defence in their last outing and settled for a scoreless draw despite generating 20 shots.

Arne Slot, Liverpool
(via Liverpool)
"When we faced them last season they had a very good spell as well – and it wasn’t a spell because they just kept on going with that and into this season again also. I think they’ve made some good signings and one of them is of course a player on loan who was worth £100m in the past, someone paid £100m for him and he is doing so well for them, Jack Grealish. So, a good team."
David Moyes, Everton

"This has always been an incredibly difficult fixture for me because I've always come up against really good Liverpool teams. I think it's easier if you're the team that has the stronger squad, but we're up against it so we have to go there and fight for everything."
The Toffees would love to be the ones to hand Liverpool their first loss of the campaign, but the Reds are favoured for a reason. This will probably be a close one though, perhaps with another late winner for Arne Slot's men.
Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Everton
