The Serie A title race has taken plenty of twists and turns already this season, and right now it looks as though we could be in for a second half of the season shootout at the San Siro.

Inter lead the way at the top, but three points and one place back are their city rivals Milan, who got a much-needed win over Como on Thursday to keep the pressure on the Nerazzurri.

Reigning champions Napoli aren't out of the equation yet, either, but all eyes are on Milan right now and whether this season's victors will come from the city's famous clubs.

One man who isn't too sure about whether Milan have enough to keep the pace is club legend Ruud Gullit.

The Dutch icon was a Ballon d'Or winner during his time with the Rossoneri, but isn't convinced by the 2026 squad and believes Massimiliano Allegri is doing his best with what he has at his disposal.

"Milan aren’t playing brilliantly, but they’re getting results." Gullit exclusively told DAZN News, thanks to Footitalia.

"There isn’t that much quality in the AC Milan squad, but Allegri understands the limits of his squad and has a system for them that enables them to win.

"I understand why he does that because the confidence grows from winning, the more confidence you get, and eventually the better you are going to play.

"That is the right thing for Milan to do at the moment; that is something we will have to get accustomed to."

AC Milan, Serie A

Milan hasn't lost a league game since the opening day of the season, and with no European football to contend with, there is a growing belief that they could once again win the Scudetto this year.

However, it might mean toppling Cristian Chivu's Inter, who have found a new level over the past few months, largely down to an attack that is firing on all cylinders.

Gullit admits Inter look like the team to beat.

"Inter are the team I like most in terms of the way they play, there’s a vibe there. They have quality and identity, reaching two Champions League finals says a lot."

Both sides are back in action this weekend as Inter travel to Udinese, while Milan hosts Lecce on Sunday evening.
