Games to watch from the National League this weekend

Solihull Moors vs Wealdstone

  • Date: Saturday, November 29
  • Time: 12:30pm GMT

The lunchtime offering this Saturday comes from The ARMCO Arena, as Solihull Moors host Wealdstone.

Solihull’s run of three straight wins was brought to an abrupt end last weekend after they suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat away to Halifax Town. Both sides finished the game with 10 men, with defender Brad Nicholson sent off in first-half stoppage time.

As for Wealdstone, they are on a run of five league games without defeat, having held Forest Green Rovers 1-1 at Grosvenor Vale last Saturday. The Stones are currently five points off the play-off positions on 30 points.

Forest Green Rovers vs Southend United

  • Date: Saturday, November 29
  • Time: 3:00pm GMT

Forest Green are one of the early favourites for promotion to League Two and occupy fourth place, just one point off league leaders Rochdale.

Although Robbie Savage’s side picked up a respectable point at Wealdstone last Saturday, it means that they have fallen slightly behind their rivals.

A home clash with Southend United promises to be a close encounter, with The Shrimpers in seventh, having won their last two.

Boreham Wood vs Halifax Town

  • Date: Saturday, November 29
  • Time: 5:30pm GMT

This season’s surprise package in the National League, Boreham Wood, returned to winning ways last weekend, having thrashed Gateshead 3-0 away from home.

Last term’s National League South play-off winners sit in fifth place and are only two points off top spot, meaning they could reach the summit if results go their way.

Halifax Town halted their two-match losing streak by toppling Solihull Moors last weekend and could climb to eighth with a victory.
