The hits just keep coming for Tottenham Hotspur.
Mired in 14th place in the Premier League amid a three-match winless skid, Spurs will now be without one of their key players for roughly three months.
Midfielder Mohammed Kudus was subbed off in the 19th minute of Tottenham's 1-1 draw with Sunderland on Jan. 4, and he missed the North London club's following match, a 3-2 loss to Bournemouth on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old suffered a quad injury that has now been assessed, and the outlook is not good for the Ghanaian.
“Kudus is unfortunately a bigger [injury] to the tendon in the quad, so that's one where we expect him back after the March international break,” Tottenham manager Thomas Frank said at a press conference on Thursday.
Kudus has featured in 19 of Tottenham's Premier League games so far this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
Spurs first match after the March international break is a visit to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland on April 11, but they could also play in the FA Cup quarterfinals in the first week of April.
