Over halfway through the Premier League season and no player stands out as favourite to win the PFA Players’ Player of the Year.
By this stage last season it was already evident Liverpool's Mohammed Salah would win the award.
He was sitting as the top goalscorer of the league, while having the most assists. Not to mention eventual champions, Liverpool were clear at the top of the table.
Who are the favourites to win the Premier League player of the year?

First, looking at the league leaders with Arsenal, who gained a six-point advantage at the top of the table over Christmas, partly thanks to a brace by Decline Rice against Bournemouth.
The England international has been given plaudits for his consistency and quality throughout his career but has been in the form of his life this season.
Arsenal boss, Arteta, when asked whether Rice was amongst the world’s best midfielders, he told Sky Sports: ‘’Yes, for me yes.’’

Continuing with the Gunners, their centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes. The player has become a fan favourite for his presence in both boxes, hitting the back of the net in consecutive matches.
Including a crucial goal to break the deadlock against fellow title contenders Aston Villa.
The concern for him is whether he can stay fit, having suffered injuries this season already.

The Premier League’s top goal scorer this season has already netted 19 goals.
This makes Erling Haaland a strong candidate to win the award especially with Manchester City still in the title race.
If the Sky Blues are able to turn the league on its head, like they have done so many times, the Norwegian striker will fancy his chances of picking up the award again.
Winning it previously in the 22/23 campaign, where he broke the record for the most goals in a 38 game Premier League season at 36.
Another former winner of the PFA Players’ Player of the Year who has impressed this season is Phil Foden. After a torrid time last season, Foden has rediscovered his magic that helped him win the award before.
The Manchester City player, netted back-to-back braces at the start of the festive period.
However, he has seen a dip in form subsequently. Pep Guardiola, saying: ‘’I know people may think differently but I think Phil today was not good," following a game against Crystal Palace where the England player still managed to score with his signature, an outside-the-box finish.

Lastly, the star of third place, Aston Villa, Morgan Rogers.
The player who is still new to international football has been favoured by Thomas Tuchel as the starting number 10 for England. Ahead of Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.
Rogers has helped Aston Villa climb the table to third after an opening month which saw the team not score a single goal.
Now, level on points with Manchester City much of the plaudits has to go to Morgan Rogers who has scored 7. Including a brace of worldies against Manchester united.
