Sack Watch: The top five Premier League managers who are most likely to be fired

If the old adage that "coaches are hired to be fired" holds true, then there are some bosses in the Premier League whose seats are truly heating up.

There have already been notable sackings in England's top flight so far this season, with Vitor Pereira, the latest name to be given his P45.

So who are the most likely managers on the chopping block in the Premier League? DAZN News ' Rudi Schuller and Ash Rose take a look at the men whose job security is currently the lowest.

1. Daniel Farke (Leeds)

The only aim for a promoted side, especially in the current climate, should be to stay in the Premier League, but given the way Sunderland have started, it has heaped pressure on Farke at Leeds.

Leeds are always going to be judged differently, given their reputation, and back-to-back lopsided losses to Brighton and Nottingham Forest isn't a good look.

Farke hasn't fared well on both his previous top-flight stints when he was at Norwich, and the pressure cooker in Leeds is always intense when things start to go wrong.

Verdict: While it may be far from panic button time yet, Leeds are always under the spotlight and it only needs a bad run of results to put Farke firmly in the frame as the next manager off the merry-go-round.

2. Marco Silva (Fulham)

Now in his fifth season with Fulham, Silva oversaw the Cottagers' return to the top flight and a new club record for points in a single Premier League season in 2024-25.

However, Fulham have taken a step back in the early stages of the current campaign, and their inability to find consistency has them just above the bottom three.

Silva's fingerprints are all over the current Fulham side, for better or worse, but the team have now lost four of their last five and are dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Verdict: Silva has earned a lot of trust based on his overall body of work with the Cottagers, and he'll likely be given plenty of time to guide the club out of their current woes. But plans can change quickly.

3. Nuno Espirito Santo (West Ham)

There had been no new manager bounce at the London Stadium before West Ham's Matchday 10 win over Newcastle, but the jury still seems to be out on Nuno and West Ham.

The Portuguese has already shared his concerns on how much needs changing at the East London club and it's debatable how much time he's going to get in the post. However, a victory over the weekend against Burnley suddenly has the Hammers on a modest win streak, and with reports suggesting the club is willing to back their latest appointment in the January transfer window, Espirito Santo may have just loosened the leash a bit.

Verdict: We've already seen Nottingham Forest make a second quick change and it's not out of the realms of possibility that West Ham could mirror that approach by ditching Nuno if he fails to drag the team out of the relegation spots.

 4. Thomas Frank (Tottenham)

Frank's arrival in North London was meant to mark the Dane's career ascent following the fine work he did at Brentford, but it's quickly gone all Spursy.

While away from home, Tottenham resemble all the good things about Frank's Bees side and how hard to beat they are, it's quite the opposite on home turf.

It's just one win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the run is starting to frustrate the home supporters. Their latest outing saw the club mount a late comeback against Manchester United only to allow the Red Devils to equalise at the stroke of full-time.

Verdict: Rumours about Frank starting to lose the dressing room have been squashed, but the home performances remain sub-par. However, Spurs' position on the table shields the manager from any front office interference — for now.

5. Scott Parker (Burnley)

One place above the relegation zone sits Burnley, and it seems harsh on Parker to criticise the job his done, given how much better the Clarets have been than last year's promoted sides.

Sunderland's excellent start has thrown the perception off-kilter a little, but the Burnley boss needs to be aware what a bad turn in results could mean.

A loss to West Ham, of all teams, gets people to start asking questions.

Verdict: Parker should be fine for now, but can ill afford any bad run of form, because the relegation scrap looks like it could be as wide open as it's been for many seasons.
