The Premier League wasted no time in serving up drama upon its return, and matchday 13 is no different.
The standout game this weekend will no doubt be at Stamford Bridge where league leaders Arsenal face Chelsea, who some are tipping to be serious title challengers after Manchester City slipped up at Newcastle.
A huge matchup at the top table, chaos at Liverpool and managers under pressure, DAZN News’ Matt Astbury looks at some of the key storylines ahead of this weekend’s action in England’s top flight.

Everyone will be watching Sunday’s late kick-off between Chelsea and Arsenal at the Bridge.
Chelsea have been quietly going about their business this season, and after beating Burnley 2-0 last weekend, they sit six points behind league leaders Arsenal who comfortably dispatched North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 4-1.
Add dominant wins over Barcelona and Bayern Munich for Chelsea and Arsenal, respectively, and this fixture has gone up a level in anticipation.
The Gunners are a relentless machine, scoring goals for fun with plenty of attacking flair, but Chelsea have the talent to match. Manager Enzo Maresca has got the Blues purring at just the right time and they will have to be perfect against the Gunners.
It will be an intense atmosphere in West London, but Arsenal have a good record at Stamford Bridge, where they are undefeated in their last six visits.
If Chelsea are to be a legitimate contender, they need to buck this trend and win this game, otherwise a nine point gap at the top already looks like a tough one to overcome.

This blip for Liverpool has turned into a nightmare.
Three successive losses, the most recent a 4-1 thrashing by PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday, has resulted in talk of manager Arne Slot potentially facing the sack if results do not go his way.
Up next is a trip to East London to face an improving West Ham United.
Liverpool have won in two of their last three visits to the London Stadium, but the Hammers are beginning to pick up points under Nuno Espirito Santo, and have won their last two games at home.
An entertaining 2-2 draw at Bournemouth last weekend proved that West Ham can give a good account of themselves against one of the league’s in-form teams, and maybe they will face Liverpool at the perfect time for Santo to get his first major scalp.
Defeat for Slot and the Reds is unthinkable, if his team travel back to Merseyside without the win, Liverpool fans will get more restless and the calls for a new man at the helm will only get louder.

Just like Slot, noise is beginning to get louder on Daniel Farke’s position as Leeds United manager.
Leeds were expected to be in the relegation battle, but a 2-1 home loss to Aston Villa on Sunday was met with a hostile response from the fans.
Then came murmurings earlier in the week that Farke was set to be sacked. While these rumours are yet to gather pace, it should be no surprise that the German is under increased scrutiny with Leeds sitting in the third relegation place.
Leeds’ next three matches come against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool. No one will expect them to get any results from those, but if Farke struggles to get much needed wins over Brentford, Crystal Palace and Sunderland during the Christmas period, there may be a new man in the Elland Road dugout at the start of 2026.
