Former Arsenal hero Ray Parlour is in no doubt who he'd like to see the Gunners add to their squad this summer.

It turned out to be a frustrating season for Mikel Arteta's side as they suffered a wrath of injuries and look set to finish second in the Premier League for a third campaign in a row.

Fingers have been pointed at the team's lack of an out-and-out goalscorer for them coming up short both domestically and in Europe, and speaking exclusively to DAZN News, thanks to Sports Betting, Parlour has earmarked the ideal signing to lead Arsenal's attack next season.

"It would have to be Aleksander Isak for me," he said.

"He would fit really well into this Arsenal team and would score plenty of goals. His all round play would suit the team as well as he can score and create goals too.

"With [Bukayo] Saka, [Gabriel] Martinelli and [Kai] Havertz, Isak would complement them so well. He is proven in the Premier League, which is so important as well, so he could get up and running straight away."

Arsenal are expected to make major moves in the transfer market ahead of next season in a bid to finally land a first league title since 2004.

However, Parlour has quashed any claims that boss Arteta could be under pressure if his team don't deliver next term.

Adding, "Mikel is doing really well. The stadium is loud every home game, the fans are right behind him and the team and you can see progression all the time.

"Semi-finalists in the Champions League, second again in the Premier League. You’re touching distance away from a big trophy, so I say keep backing Mikel and the team and the trophy will come.

"With a new striker incoming plus other reinforcements, the squad will be deeper next year as well.

"Remember we finished second three times before 2004 and we know what happened that season."
