The first North London derby of the season takes place this weekend, as Premier League leaders Arsenal entertain their local rivals Spurs in a Sunday teatime treat.

Games between the two are rarely quiet affairs, making it one of England's most heated rivalries and always a must-see fixture in the calendar.

Such is the intensity between the two clubs, very few players have turned out for both clubs. In fact, only 15 players represented both sides of North London over the years.

DAZN News looks at the five most famous names to cross the divide.

Pat Jennings (Tottenham 1964-77, Arsenal 1977-85)

One of the great goalies of the era, Jennings spent 13 years with Tottenham, where he was part of a team that won two League Cups, the FA Cup and the 1972 UEFA Cup. A year later, he became the first goalie to win the PFA Player of the Year, and he remains one of only two keepers to have achieved the accolade.

Capped over 100 times for Northern Ireland, the keeper left Spurs after they were relegated and moved across North London, where he was expected to be a backup in Arsenal's goalkeeping department. However, he held the number one position for another eight years and picked up another FA Cup medal with the Gunners.

Sol Campbell (Tottenham 1992-01, Arsenal 2001-06 and 2010)

Easily the most controversial name on this list, Sol Campbell's move from Spurs to Arsenal in 2001 is still a sore point with Tottenham fans.

The defender came through the ranks at Spurs to become one of the Premier League's best young defenders, winning the League Cup with the squad in 1999 and becoming a regular in the England set-up.

However, his thirst for trophies saw him seek a bigger stage when his contract expired, but few saw Campbell doing the ultimate dirty on Tottenham by joining neighbours Arsenal.

He's spent five years with the Gunners, winning two titles and being a key member of the club's famous Invincibles side.

David Bentley (Arsenal 1997-06, Tottenham 2008-11)

After coming through the Arsenal academy, Bentley was once seen as a future star of England's midfield, and he showed early promise as a young star with The Gunners.

The need for first-team football saw him leave North London in 2006, and after starring for Blackburn, he moved back to the area two seasons later, only this time in the white of Spurs.

The winger never quite lived up to his potential, but had a fruitful spell with Tottenham, which included helping them qualify for the Champions League and a memorable worldie against old club Arsenal in the derby.

William Gallas (Arsenal 2006-10, Tottenham 2010-13)

Gallas moved to Arsenal as part of tthe controversial deal that took Ashley Cole to Chelsea, and enjoyed a dramatic spell with the Gunners.

Oddly taking the number 10 shirt from Dennis Bergkamp, he went on to become a regular member of Arsene Wenger's back four but grew frustrated with the club and was involved in clashes with both the manager and supporters.

He left in 2010 after failing to agree a new contract and moved down the road to Spurs, spending three years with Tottenham.

Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal 2006-09, Tottenham 2011-15)

The big powerful striker arrived at Arsenal from Monaco in 2006 and it was with the North London side that he made a name for himself, scoring 62 goals for the Gunners in four seasons.

It was enough to convince big-spending Manchester City to sign the forward, where his most memorable moment came against his former employers as he ran the full length of the pitch to celebrate a goal in front of their fans to make a point to those who had accused him of a money-oriented move.

Having already been crossed off Arsenal's Christmas list, he double-downed on it by then moving to rivals Spurs and spending three seasons back in North London.
