The Champions League brought the curtain down on its league phase on Wednesday night, with a final night of drama in which the final placings were decided in the competition's opening round.
Only the top eight qualify automatically for the knockout rounds, giving them a breather from European football until March, but for the next sixteen teams, there will be a two-legged play-off to work through before they can take their place in the round of 16.
The night saw some big names crash out of the competition altogether in Marseille, Ajax and reigning Italian champions Napoli, but which sides did make it through at the end of Matchday 8?

The top eight in the league table saw Arsenal finish top with a perfect record of eight wins from eight, with four other English sides making up the rest of the field.
The remaining 16 sides will face off in a two-legged play-off next month, with the draw for the round made on Friday, 31 January.
