Paul Wight has pretty much seen it all in professional wrestling during a career that has spanned four decades.

A multi-time world champion and one of the biggest names of his era, Wight is now a huge (as always) part of everything AEW as the promotion gets set to return to London later this year for another All In event as well as this month's Double or Nothing PPV.

Having been in the ring with some of the most famous names in the industry, the 54-year-old is perfectly placed to pick out who he thinks are the next big stars of the business.

AEW can currently boast a plethora of top talent, from world champion Darby Allin and veteran Jon Moxley, to Mercedes Mone and Hangman Adam Page, but in an exclusive chat with DAZN News, Wight has handpicked one of the UK's own as the man he thinks is the company's biggest star.

Wight said, "Will Ospreay, incredibly talented, incredibly genuine, and Will does a great job, in my opinion, of translating heart and desire through effort and work in the ring.

"There's not one person who doesn't watch Will Ospreay wrestle and not realise this guy is giving 110% and pedal to the metal, balls to the wall. And I respect that.

"Plus, he's just such a great guy."

Ospreay is expected to play a massive role in the event at Wembley in August, when many hope he could do battle for AEW's heavyweight title, currently held by Darby Allin.

Yet, most fans would love to see the Londoner lock horns with another of the superstars, who was name-dropped by Wight.

"MJF is a miserable, horrible jerk of a human being," he added bluntly.

"But what an amazing ability he has to communicate with the audience. He's a star.

"Talk about dichotomies. You've got MJF on one side, who's just a horrible, self-centred POS.

"He's incredibly talented, but extremely self-centred. And then on the other end of the spectrum, you've got Will Ospreay. I think that's a great combination for AEW."

It remains to be seen if the paths of the two men will meet this summer, but nevertheless, it will still be one of the biggest events in the AEW calendar.

But could we see Wight himself in action under the famous arch? The wrestling legend hasn't ruled it out and confirms it's not in his immediate plans to retire just yet.

"I've had my day in the sun. I've had my battles, but I'm not done yet. There are still a few guys I'd love to get in there with.

"For me, it's now more about nurturing the young talent, passing on any advice I can, and really, I just want to have fun. I'm sure there's room for a bit more fun."
