A key loss for the Pittsburgh Steelers for Sunday's tilt vs. the Chicago Bears on NFL Game Pass on DAZN (excl. the US and China).
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is inactive and will not play. Mason Rudolph replaces the future Hall of Famer in the lineup.
"He fought his tail off all week," Tomlin told the CBS pregame show. "That's the prudent play to make for us as a collective. We'll let Mason start; he's absorbed most of the reps this week."
Rodgers suffered a fractured wrist in the Steelers Week 11 vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. He didn't participate in Wednesday's practice but was a limited participant during Thursday and Friday's practice, giving a little optimism that the four-time MVP would be able to suit up against his fiercest team rival.
Rodgers came to Chicago's Soldier Field at around 9:00 am local time and took a lap around the stadium with a stabilizer on his wrist. A short time later, it was deemed Rodgers would be unable to go.
Rudolph hasn't started since Week 17 last season against the Tennessee Titans.
