Opportunity knocks for the Arizona Cardinals at this year’s draft.
With the number four overall pick and a whopping six selections in the top 100 picks, the team have the ammunition to do something special this year - although they will be well aware that the draft is not an exact science.
Here’s a look at how the Cards’ draft could play out this week.
A top-tier wide receiver for Kyler Murray to target will be at the head of the Cards’ shopping list in Detroit, while a guard will also be needed on offense.
Defensively, the tackle group needs work after free agency exits, while linebacker and cornerback should also be addressed.
Arizona’s volume of picks means that they are likely to have plenty of options. They are likely to receive calls for their number four pick from a QB-needy team, but if Marvin Harrison Jr really is the slam-dunk prospect many are tipping him to be, the Cards shouldn’t overthink this one and should select the wideout.
With another first-round pick and plenty of ammunition should they want to move up, they can go after the likes of Cooper DeJan and Kool-Aid McKinstry to solve their cornerback issues.
If Arizona play their cards right, then they have the chance to add real quality and quantity to their roster this week.
