There were doubts about the Detroit Lions heading into the home opener on Sunday against NFC North rival, the Chicago Bears, live on NFL Game Pass on DAZN (excl. US and China). They had looked out of sync, and the offense didn't look the same with offensive coordinator now Bears head coach Ben Johnson in their 27-13 defeat to the Green Bay Packers.

The Week 1 result was nothing more than a blip on the radar as Jared Goff was 23 of 28 for 334 yards and five touchdown passes to lead the Lions to a 52-21 rout of Johnson and the Bears. It was the first time in 11 years the Bears have allowed 50 points since a 55-14 loss to the Packers in November 2014.

Three of Goff's five TDs went to wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who also caught nine balls for 115 yards.

The Lions held a 28-14 lead at halftime and went on to outscore them in the second half 24-7.

Johnson hasn't had the same magic so far with quarterback Caleb Williams like he did with Goff. The second-year QB had a pedestrian day, going 19 of 30 for 207 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. His main target was second-year WR Rome Odunze, who had seven receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns. The Lions' defense suffocated Williams all day long as they had four sacks on the No. 1 pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Next week, the Lions (1-1) head to Baltimore to take on the Ravens on Monday Night Football, while the Bears (0-2) host the Cowboys next week in Chicago.
