With 2:12 to go in the game, the Bears led the Bengals 41-27. Then chaos ensued.
Twenty-one points were scored in the final 132 seconds, with the Bears coming out on top with a 47-42 victory as Caleb Williams slinged a 58-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Colston Loveland with 17 seconds left in the game.Â
Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco threw one of his four touchdowns in the game to tight end Noah Fant, followed by a two-point conversion to wide receiver Tee Higgins to make it a 41-35 game. The Bengals went for an onside kick and ended up recovering the ball. Flacco charged the Bengals 57 yards down the field with a TD pass to Andrei Iosivas to give his team a 42-41 lead with 54 seconds left in the game.Â
The Bears got the ball back and appeared to be stuck on 3rd and 10 when Williams scrambled for a 14-yard run to give the Bears some life. Then Williams made the winning throw to Loveland to help the Bears (5-3) rebound from their loss in Week 8 to the Ravens.
For the game, Williams went 20 of 34 for 280 yards and three touchdowns, along with 53 yards rushing, and even caught two passes for 22 yards and a touchdown. Running back Kyle Monangai had 198 total yards (176 rushing, 22 receiving), and Loveland caught six balls for 118 yards and the game-winning touchdown.
Flacco went 31 of 47 for 470 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. Tee Higgins caught seven of those balls for 121 yards and two touchdowns.Â
In Week 10, the Bears host the Giants while the Bengals travel to Pittsburgh and face off with the Steelers.
