Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin dead at the age of 36

Former All-Pro running back Doug Martin has passed away at the age of 36, according to a report by TMZ. It is unknown at this time of writing how or when Martin passed.

Martin was drafted late in the first round, 31st overall, by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Boise State as he rushed for 3,431 yards and 43 touchdowns. He played six seasons in Tampa, where he went to two Pro Bowls and was named a first-team All-Pro player in the 2015 season which Martin rushed for 1,402 yards and six touchdowns.

Martin left Tampa after the 2017 season and signed with his hometown team, the Oakland Raiders. Martin was supposed to play in 2019 which was the franchise's first season in Las Vegas. But Martin got injured and agreed to a settlement with the team. And that would be the last season Martin would wear an NFL uniform.

For his career, Martin rushed for 5,356 yards and 30 touchdowns and also had 148 receptions for 1,207 yards and two touchdowns.
