The highly anticipated NFL Combine will take place next week, where 300 college athletes will attempt to capture the attention of NFL teams ahead of the NFL Draft.

Future NFL stars will compete in various physical tests and drills in an effort to impress visiting teams and improve their draft stock.

DAZN News highlights five of the most exciting prospects to watch during the 2025 NFL Combine.

Travis Hunter, Cornerback/Wide Receiver - Colorado Buffaloes

Hunter was an extraordinary two-way standout at Colorado, earning Associated Press first-team honours as a cornerback, first-team all-purpose player, and second-team receiver.

As he prepares for his NFL career, many wonder whether the reigning Heisman Trophy winner will focus on playing defensive back, wide receiver, or possibly a combination of both.

The 21-year-old sent shockwaves through the NFL last week when he announced he would participate in the NFL Combine as a defensive back, potentially signalling how he and NFL teams view his primary role at the next level.

Although Hunter is listed as a defensive back, he can still participate in wide receiver drills.

Beyond the typical focus on athletic performance at the NFL Combine, it will be intriguing to see how many offensive drills Hunter chooses to participate in.

Ashton Jeanty, Running Back - Boise State Broncos

Saquon Barkley's record-breaking season may encourage NFL teams to rethink the value of running backs in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jeanty is expected to be the next difference-maker at the position and will be intent on putting on a show at the NFL Combine.

Despite his incredible production during his college career, some have questioned Jeanty's ability to make sharp cuts.

By performing well in NFL Combine agility tests, Jeanty can answer his critics and cement his status as the most talented running back in the 2025 Draft class.

Cam Ward, Quarterback - Miami Hurricanes

Ward possesses the arm talent and athleticism that NFL teams covet. In 2024, he demonstrated his ability by throwing 37 touchdowns and over 4,300 yards.

The 22-year-old has become many analysts' top-ranked quarterback in the 2025 Draft class and could separate from the rest of the field with a strong showing in Indianapolis.

Ward has reportedly not decided whether to throw at the NFL Combine but will be aware that doing so would answer the criticism he faced for sitting out the second half of the Hurricanes' loss to the Iowa State Cyclones.

Abdul Carter, Edge Defender - Penn State Nittany Lions

Carter is arguably the most talented defensive player in the 2025 Draft class and is possibly the only non-quarterback who could be selected first overall.

The unanimous All-American and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year 2024 recorded a staggering 12 sacks, 68 tackles, and forced two fumbles in 2024.

Performing well in strength drills would help alleviate concerns about Carter's effectiveness against stronger NFL offensive tackles.

Malaki Starks, Defensive Back - Georgia Bulldogs

NFL teams will covet Starks' versatility as a movable chess piece capable of playing in the box, as a deep safety, and in the slot.

Starks produced 77 tackles, an interception, and three pass breakups in 2024, earning First-team All-American awards.

As one of the most explosive defensive backs in the 2025 Draft class, Starks should record impressive in athletic drills at the NFL Combine.
