Could it be the beginning of the end of an era?
The Philadelphia Eagles stormed into Kansas City and defeated the Chiefs 20-17, which you could see on NFL Game Pass on DAZN (excl. US and China). The Chiefs haven't started 0-2 since the 2014 season, which was head coach Andy Reid's second season with the franchise. Overall, it is the third consecutive loss for the AFC champions, as the skid also includes losing Super Bowl LIX to the Eagles. Also, it's the first time Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has lost three straight games in his NFL career.Â
The turning point of the game came about two minutes into the fourth quarter with the Chiefs trailing 13-10. It was second and goal when Mahomes attempted a pass to tight end Travis Kelce. But the always reliable Kelce dropped the pass and the Eagles intercepted it.Â
The Eagles (2-0) went down the field with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts getting a little bit of the controversial tush push to put the Eagles ahead 20-10.
The Chiefs (0-2) scored a late touchdown, but the Eagles were able to run out the clock to win for the 18th time in 19 games.
Hurts didn't play his best, but he did enough to get the Eagles across the line, going 15-22 for 101 yards, and he had one rushing touchdown. Saquon Barkley had 22 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown. For the Chiefs, Mahomes went 16 of 29 for 187 yards with one touchdown and one interception, along with 66 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Next week, the Eagles host the Rams while the Chiefs head to New Jersey and face the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football.
