Week 8 wraps up with a huge Monday Night Football matchup between two intriguing teams, the Chiefs (4-3) and the Commanders (3-4).
These two franchises might be just a win apart, but they’re heading in opposite directions in recent weeks.
The Chiefs started 0-2 but have won four of their last five, hell-bent on trying to chase down the AFC West-leading Denver Broncos.
Patrick Mahomes is back to his very best, with 11 touchdowns and only one interception in his last four games. His connection with Rashee Rice, who returned from suspension to face the Raiders last week, sent a warning to anyone who wrote them off a few weeks ago.
The Chiefs boast a multitude of offensive weapons, including veteran tight end Travis Kelce, speedster Xavier Worthy, and a three-headed monster at running back comprising Isiah Pacheco, Kareem Hunt, and dual-threat Brashard Smith.
The Commanders, meanwhile, have lost two in a row, and talismanic quarterback Jayden Daniels may not play in this contest after suffering a hamstring injury in the loss to the Cowboys. Marcus Mariota will play in his place.
Daniels has done his best to keep the offense rolling despite being without Terry McLaurin (four games) and Deebo Samuel (one game), but the offense has come unstuck in recent weeks.
Things went from bad to worse for the Commanders when it was announced that their best edge rusher, Dorance Armstrong, is out for the year with a knee injury.
If the Commanders are to prevail at Arrowhead, they need everyone back on the field (bar Armstrong, of course), and several players to play to the best of their abilities. It's a tall task.

The Chiefs have dominated previous meetings, leading the series 10-1-0. Washington hasn't beaten Kansas City since 1983.
Even a fully healthy Commanders' team would find it hard to go into Arrowhead and come away with a win.
But with so many injured stars, and considering the Chiefs have found their groove, the smart money is on Mahomes and Co.
Chiefs 37 - 14 Commanders
