The NFL is officially back, and it opens with a bang when the Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions open the preseason with the Hall of Fame Game on Friday at 1pm BST / Thursday at 8pm ET.
You can catch the game live on DAZN with an NFL Game Pass subscription, and DAZN News will have the complete post-game reaction.
As is tradition, the game will be played at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, followed by the Hall of Fame enshrinement days later.
The Chargers' appearance in the game carries added significance, as longtime Bolts legend and star tight end Antonio Gates will be among this year's Hall of Fame inductees.
Both teams are expected to rest several of their starters as they prepare for the gruelling season ahead.
Among those sitting out the contest will be Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.
But there will still be plenty of star power on display, including the Chargers' top two selections in the 2025 NFL Draft: First-round rookie running back Omarion Hampton and second-round rookie wide receiver Tre Harris.
Joining Hampton and Harris in the Hall of Fame game will be a host of fringe players, some of whom are fighting for a roster spot, and many of those who do make the 53-man roster will undoubtedly be thrust into bigger roles as the usual toll of injuries mounts throughout the season.
Chargers' head coach Jim Harbaugh is keen for his players to make the most of the opportunity.
