Pittsburgh Steelers legend and four-time Super Bowl winner Terry Bradshaw has backed Kenny Pickett to win the Steelers' starting quarterback job.

Ahead of the 2024 season, the Steelers have a big decision to make at quarterback.

Kenny Pickett started the 2023 season as first-choice. But an ankle injury prematurely ended his season. Mason Rudolph replaced Pickett and steered the Steelers to a playoff berth.

Rudolph is a free agent, but many experts expect the Steelers to re-sign him and hold an open competition between Pickett and Rudolph.

Moreover, rumours and NFL insiders continue to link Pittsburgh with a potential move for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields.

Hall of Fame quarterback Bradshaw said on the Rich Eisen Show, "I love Pickett. I know him well, and he's fiercely competitive; he's a tough-minded kid, and things don't bother him. I really like him a lot."

Bradshaw also called the Steelers to surround Pickett with more talent, saying, "Build him (Pickett) up, get him a receiver, get him an explosive tight end, get him another tackle, give him a guard. Have the ability to protect him and then get him guys on the outside. This is a passing league now.

"He's (Pickett) fine, he's their guy. There will probably be a lot of negative about him, but that's the guy I would go with."

After seeing rumours that the Steelers players want Rudolph, this is undoubtedly a timely confidence boost for Pickett.

The Steelers' quarterback battle will be a crucial storyline throughout the offseason.
