Every year the NFL Draft throws up some great surprises and unforgettable moments. 

The 2023 NFL Draft was no exception.

Sometimes it all gets a bit too much, and for Anthony Richardson and CJ Stroud, being selected in the 2023 Draft was enough to bring them to tears.

Commissioner of the NFL, Roger Goodell, has had his fair share of interesting introductions during NFL Drafts of years gone by.

And with the seventh selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, Goodell was given a very warm reception by Las Vegas Raiders selection Tyree Wilson.

Atlanta Falcons fan hits back at chants

Goodell is not the only person to read out selections in the NFL Draft, and in 2023 an Atlanta Falcons fan stole the show.

Falcons fans have had to endure years of jokes about how they threw away a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots, and for this fan he had heard the joke one too many times.

Dream come true for young Jets fan

The NFL has long tried to give back to the fans and communities.

In 2023, Kyle Stickles - a New York Jets fan who had been diagnosed with bone cancer in 2020 - was given the opportunity to read out the Jets' first round selection.

He made the most of the opportunity!

Commissioner has a special handshake?

As he was with Tyree Wilson, commissioner Goodell was caught off guard when Philadelphia Eagles selection Jalen Carter was selected.

Carter approached the commissioner ready to show off their pre-arranged secret handshake, but it does not look like Goodell got the message!

When is the 2024 NFL Draft?

The draft takes place over three days.

• Round 1: Thursday, April 25 (8 p.m. ET / 1 a.m. BST)
• Rounds 2-3: Friday, April 26 (7 p.m. ET / 12 a.m. BST)
• Rounds 4-7: Saturday, April 27 (12 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. BST)
