If you were hoping Tom Brady was going to be in trouble, your hopes are dashed.
The NFL released a statement on Tuesday that Brady did not violate any league rules when he was in the coaching booth of the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football during their 20-9 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, which you could watch at NFL Game Pass on DAZN (excl. US and China).
"There are no policies that prohibit an owner from sitting in the coaches' booth or wearing a headset during a game," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in the statement. "Brady was sitting in the booth in his capacity as a limited partner.
"All personnel sitting in the booth must abide by policies that prohibit the use of electronic devices other than league-issued equipment such as a Microsoft Surface Tablet for the Sideline Viewing System."
The league also said Brady, who is a minority owner of the Raiders and a broadcaster on Fox, is "prohibited from going to a team facility for practices or production meetings." But the future Hall of Fame quarterback is allowed to sit in the coaching booth.
Brady made his broadcasting debut last season with Fox. Because of his ownership stake with the Raiders, Brady can only participate remotely for production meetings and is barred from going to practices at team facilities.
Brady's next Fox assignment is on Sunday for the Week 3 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears. The following week, the Raiders play the Bears.
