Playoff picture: What the San Francisco 49ers need to reach the 2023 NFL playoffs

The San Francisco 49ers took a big step towards confirming their place in the 2023 NFL playoffs last week, as they beat the Philadelpia Eagles on the road.

It was a statement win for the now 9-3 49ers, who are now just a Week 14 win away from clinching the NFC West division and the playoff place which comes with it.

All that stands between the 49ers and the playoffs is a match against divisional rivals Seattle Seahawks at Levi Stadium this weekend.

Even if San Francisco lose to the Seahawks, they will still have a greater than 99% chance of making the postseason - according to The New York Times.

What would suffer as a result of a Seahawks loss would be the 49ers' hopes of securing top seed in the NFC, especially if the 10-2 Philadelphia Eagles can get the better of the Dallas Cowboys the following day.
