Paul vs Chavez Jr - June 28 - live on DAZN PPV

Joshua Edwards is seen by some within the boxing indiurstry as the man to bring heavyweight glory back to America and fill the void left behind by huge punchers such as Deontay Wilder and Mike Tyson.

Promoted by Golden Boy, Edwards made it two wins from two this weekend when he registered another stoppage against Alexander Rhodes in Las Vegas.

In April, Edwards made his professional debut after a great run in the amateur code, and he got his paid career off to the perfect start with a second-round knockout over Larry Gonzalez.

Although in the early days of his professional career, Edwards is off to a solid start and his amateur pedigree means that his progress is well worth monitoring over the next few years as Oscar De La Hoya undoubtedly keeps his heavyweight prospect busy.

Next up for Edwards is an outing on June 28 when he will box on the huge Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr show in California

The eyes of the world will be on that event due to the popularity of both fighters, and that will give Edwards the opportunity display his credentials to huge audience.

Trained by Ronnie Shields, Mike Tyson’s former coach, and of course promoted by De La Hoya, Edwards has huge backing, and he will be confident he can repay the faith currently being shown in him.

A star at the Paris Olympics last year, Edwards had been expected to be on the podium but a defeat to Italy’s Diego Lenzi ruined his Olympic dream.

Now a professional, Edwards appears to have the physical tools to go far, but is he the man to restore America’s reputation in the heavyweight division?
