One of the biggest fights is fast approaching as Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford meet this weekend.
The whole boxing world is excited for it and they have been split on who will come out on top.
Below, you can read the predictions from some of boxing's biggest names as they have their say on the big fight.
“I’m so confident for Canelo and that’s not just because I want to fight him,” said Sheeraz when speaking exclusively to DAZN News . "People are making far too much of Canelo’s recent performances without really saying much about Crawford’s last fight against [Israil] Madrimov. I was ringside in Los Angeles that night and you could see clearly that Crawford was having problems with Madrimov’s size and the way he was walking forward. Canelo is much bigger, has a better jab, and can apply the pressure much better than Madrimov can. I’m going with Canelo, and I’ve felt that way ever since the fight was first announced.”
“I think that was a great move to bring Boots into camp. The choice means that Canelo wants to be in the best shape of his life,” said Garcia to The Ring . "It's a big plus. I give Canelo an even bigger edge now because of the kind of training I am sure he's going through. I do definitely see a little bit more of an advantage now for Canelo than I did before.”
“This is the fight that will make Terence great. I give him every chance in the [Canelo] fight,” said Hearn when discussing the fight with The Ring . "I think size is going to be a problem. Is Canelo getting old? One of the things that is so admirable about Canelo Alvarez is that he keeps competing. He keeps having his training camps, and he still has the fire in his belly. I think for the Crawford fight, he’ll really get himself up for that fight. I just think the movement is going to cause him a lot of problems.
“I’m going with Terence Crawford, you know, big weight jump, dangerous fight, but somebody has got to prove to me that they can break Terence Crawford’s will and that he can’t figure it out against you,” said Ward when speaking to Boxing News . "It ain’t no disrespect to Canelo but I’ve said this the last couple, I am not betting against Terence Crawford against anybody right now, you’ve got to show me that you can beat him.”
“When the fight was made, I was just like, yeah Crawford's amazing, but Canelo's too big. And Canelo isn’t finished just yet. But Crawford backs himself. I'm sure he'll have a game plan,” said Groves when speaking to Adventure Gamers . “Whether it works or not, he might be that bit sharper than Canelo’s used to. And I’m sure Crawford has been sitting at home for years now, wanting Canelo, thinking he can beat him. I still think Alvarez will win this fight.”
“Crawford is at a different level. He’s a GOAT, too, but he’s at a different level," said Bradley on his YouTube channel . "He’s going to show everybody who is going to witness this on Netflix on September 13th. He’s going to defy all the boxing odds. He’s going to rewrite the book.”
“I’m expecting Crawford to ride out a few early storms as Canelo will want to make a quick start, but if he gets past that then i see him taking over to win on points," said Bellew when speaking to DAZN News.
“I want Crawford to win, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen,” said Tyson on The Big Podcast. “I would like for it to happen.” This guy [Alvarez] is a hard puncher, he’s a smart fighter. I want to see it.”
