Carl Froch has spoken about an upcoming clash.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to clash on February 17 next year but there’s one figure in the boxing world who doesn’t believe it will happen.

Carl Froch, a former world champion at super-middleweight and now an analyst on the sport, has often been opinionated on the heavyweight scene and he has doubts the bout will take place on the scheduled date.

The heavyweight champions have finally agreed to fight after lengthy negotiations that have been taking place for over a year.

Fury had long been considered a favourite for the bout but his recent performance against Francis Ngannou has some thinking Usyk could pull off the win. Despite the excitement for the contest, Froch is a little more reserved.

“Listen, Tyson’s got to get through Christmas and New Year, not relax, not have a drink, not overeat,” said Froch when speaking on Froch on Fighting

“It’s going to be a tough one. He’s got a wonderful family, his wife and seven children, so he’ll want to relax and have a good time.

“Is he going to want to be training over Christmas and New Year which he’s going to have to do if he’s ready for the February event? I’m not sure, I think the fight will be pushed back to March. You heard it here first.”
