Caroline Dubois hopes for a unification bout with domestic rival Terri Harper in 2026, as the Briton mounts her latest title defence this month.

The former will defend her WBC lightweight crown against Camila Panatta on the undercard of Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua's major clash.

Dubois signed with Paul's Most Valuable Promotions this week, in a further sign of her intent to push for large-scale bouts after a quiet 2025.

But one name in her sights is Doncaster-born fighter Harper, who holds the WBO strap at 135lbs - and she wants her as soon as possible.

"It was one of the main reasons I signed with MVP and Jake Paul," she told Sky Sports News. "I just felt like they have the best opponents for me.

"They have the biggest names. Terri Harper, Alycia Baumgardner, Stephanie Han and Holly Holm, they have those girls.

"Harper is a British fighter, I'm a British fighter. It makes the most sense and it's the one we want to get next, in the first quarter of next year.

Dubois also stressed her belief that a move to MVP can help further grow her career and reputation as the women's sport enters new frontiers.

"Every time I step into the ring, people see what I bring," she added. "They don't need to question it. I step into the ring and I'm a straight killer.

"I think women's boxing needs that character, that personality, that ability. The lightweight division for women is booming right now. It's on fire."

Say what you like about Jake Paul - and many do - but there's little doubt his support for the female fight code has helped find new audiences.

Most Valuable Promotions is seen by many as a leader for woemn's boxing and the arrival of Caroline Dubois adds another string to their bow.

The star will hope that it is a quick triumph when she steps out on December 19 in Miami as part of the undercard beneath her new promoter.

The bigger questions however will be just how she can parlay her opportunities within a stacked slate of contenders into unification chances.

A bout with Terri Harper appears ready-made, as mooted - but surely, Dubois will need to prove her best self once again to find that success.
