Chris Eubank Jr is making his final preparations ahead of the biggest fight of his career so far.
Taking place on Saturday night at a sold out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Eubank Jr will finally face Conor Benn live on DAZN PPV in a contest which has been three years in the making.
Eubank Jr is a big star in the world of boxing, but he is someone who often struggles when challenging for major titles on the biggest stage.
One example of this came in February 2018 when Eubank Jr faced George Groves for the WBA super middleweight title.
Groves was enjoying a career resurgence after being knocked out by Carl Froch, and beat Fedor Chudinov in Sheffield for the WBA's 168lb world title belt a year prior to facing Eubank.
When both men went head-to-head at the Manchester Arena, not only was a world title at stake, but also a place in the World Boxing Super Series final.
Groves would triumph against Eubank Jr by unanimous decision that night, and speaking to casino.co.uk, he revealed Eubank Jr's key asset whenever he stepped foot inside the ring.
"He's always had a great engine, that's probably been his main attribute," Groves said.
"He throws a lot of punches and has decent hand speed. He's spiteful and would punch with intent. If he hurt you, he would try and jump all over you. There was a gear change with him after the Saunders defeat. He knew he didn't do enough in the first half of that fight, before bringing the heat in the second half.
"After that, he changed things up and tried to start fights faster. As you get older, though, maybe the volume isn't there as it used to be."
After losing to Groves, Eubank Jr put together a six-fight winning streak which included victories over the likes of Liam Williams and James DeGale, but this run of form came to an abrupt halt against Liam Smith in January 2023.
Eubank Jr managed to get revenge over Smith eight months later and beat Kamil Szeremeta last October in Riyadh ahead of Saturday's fight with Benn.
'Beefy' Smith is set to appear on the undercard of Eubank Jr vs Benn when he faces Aaron McKenna in a middleweight contest.
