"The whole of the British public" will be supporting Chris Eubank Jr on Saturday night against Conor Benn, claims his promoter, BOXXER's Ben Shalom.
Eubank Jr and Benn will finally settle their differences at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, live on DAZN PPV, three years after their original fight was cancelled.
Back in 2022, it was felt that Eubank Jr was painted as the villain, a character, like his Dad, has played in many contests.
However, Shalom, along with many pundits feel the tide has turned in terms of where fan support will be when the pair conduct their ringwalks in London.
Benn's reputation has been tarnished from the adverse findings of his drugs test that led to the cancellation of the original bout. Benn has always maintained his innocence and after a three-year battle, was fully cleared.
Meanwhile, Eubank Jr has revealed he compensated with his own money all the undercard fighters on the original bill who lost out on their pay day when the fight was called off.
Those factors, Shalom believes, has put his Brighton boxer into the hearts of fight fans, despite history to the opposite.
"The whole of British public wants Chris to win this," Shalom told talkSPORT.
"Chris Sr always liked to play the character of the villain in fights, and we've seen Chris Jr do the same. He knows it sells fights.
"But he will be the crowd favourite on Saturday night.
"After what happened with the first fight and the reason for it being called off, what that has done for Benn's reputation.
"And how Chris has acted and gone about his business since then, the public have seen something different in him.
"I'd honestly say it would be a disaster is Conor Benn wins this fight. No one in that stadium or in boxing wants to see that. Everyone wants Chris to win."
Fight fans are in for a treat at the end of April / start of May, with three amazing fight cards within seven days - and DAZN PPV is the only place to watch them all.
