Ben Shalom has suggested Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn's upcoming bout could be one of the last fights of the latter's career, with a potential rematch already on the cards.

The pair will meet at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26 atop the bill at The Ring's Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, two-and-a-half years after their first bout was scratched.

Benn has turned down a world title shot and moved up two divisions to middleweight to face off against his bitter rival, who slapped him with an egg at Tuesday's media event.

But speaking at Thursday's press conference, BOXXER boss Shalom suggested the latter's camp had chased this clash as a "cash-out" and suggested it could end Benn's career.

"It's the biggest event this year," he said. "I do have to question when Eddie said they didn't do it for money. They had an opportunity to fight for a world title. It's clearly for money.

"It's a cash-out. It's two fights, probably the last two fights of Conor's career. But this will be the biggest fight we've seen in the past two decades, whether people like it or not.

"It's incredible. I knew it was big when we got the deal done. I want to thank the media as well as the fighters. [It has been on] every front page, every back page.

"It just feels bigger than boxing. It feels bigger than sport. This is going to be the biggest event of the year. The first felt like born rivals [but] it's not to do with their dads anymore.

"This is about two-and-a-half years of rivalry, two-and-a-half years of controversy. We're here for one of the biggest events in boxing. It's crazy."

There had been fears of another major fracas between both fighters after Tuesday's explosive press conference, though both were kept mostly apart throughout their duties.
