Screaming, shouting, insults and accusations - did we expect anything else from Eubank Jr vs Benn 2 press conference?

Eubank Jr. vs Benn 2 - only on DAZN - November 15

When Chris Eubank Jr., Conor Benn and Eddie Hearn are in the same room you know there are going to be fireworks - such is the animosity, sometimes they don't even need to be in the same building to ignite each other.

So, did we expect anything else when the trio were put together to officially launch The Ring's Eubank Jr. vs Benn 2: Unfinished Business fight card at Wednesday's press conference?

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2

Eubank Jr. employed the same tactics that worked for him so well in the build-up to April's original contest - dominating proceedings with monologues and cutting off Hearn every time the Matchroom promoter attempted to speak. To Hearn's credit, he managed to fire out more shots himself this time around.

The Brighter fighter reiterated his claim that following his victory in the first fight the Benn camp stopped his ambulance leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He accused Benn and Hearn of being 'untrustworthy', claiming they were pretending to be the good guys when they are really the bad guys and constantly referred to both as 'scumbags'.

Hearn, denying Eubank's Jr. claims, responded by accusing Eubank of waffle, thanking him for playing his part in making his Netflix's Matchroom documentary so successful, and taking the mick of Eubank's lost toenail.

And Benn? He remained composed and quiet for the opening exchanges, letting his rival and promoter battle it out. When he eventually engaged, calling Eubank Jr. an 'idiot' and 'unprofessional', he accused his enemy of ducking the original September date for this fight.

At points, it resembled a school yard - kids shouting over each other with weak insults - but for the most part there was real substance to the trading of barbs. Rather than the first fight resulting in both camps discovering new respect for each other, it is clear it has only done the opposite.

The hatred is at another level, the determination of both to win the rematch is at another level. For sceptics expecting this fight to fail to live up to April's classic, for the rivalry to have reduced, then Wednesday proved those notions false.

Saturday November 15 live and exclusive on DAZN, promises to deliver another highlight in the British boxing calendar. Another classic could be in store and it is not to be missed.
